Parabelle Glass
Parabelle Glass was founded by Gary Scrutton in 1981. Parabelle specializes in paperweights. Production ceased in 1998 when Gary Scrutton retired, though Scrutton’s daughter, Julie Scrutton Lewis produces paperweights in her own name. The paperweights are distinct for the millefiori design and bright colors.
Auction highlights include an antique Parabelle glass millefiori weight sold by Christie’s London on May 24, 2007 for £960, more than triple the expected maximum price of £300.
