Fine & Antique Toys
Collecting antique toys first gained widespread popularity in the mid 1960s and coincided with the formation of numerous collecting societies including The Antique Toy Collectors of America, The Mechanical Bank Collectors of America, and The American Train Collectors Association.
By the 1980s, toy prices had risen dramatically. In 1988, the sale of the Perelman Toy Museum's collection of 5,000 antique toys yielded more than $5 million dollars. More recently, a December 2010 sale of 240 antique toys and games from the collection of the late Malcolm Forbes netted $2.3 million.
Auctions can be a great way to both research and collect antique toys. Our Collector's Guide is designed to help you research antique toys values and bid on antique toys in live auctions. Each collection includes images, upcoming lots and price results for lots previously sold at auction. Navigate among the collections below featuring dolls, bears, trains, and much more!
