Description: William Forsyth (American, 1854-1935), three portraits: an African American male, an elderly gentleman, and also a young girl, pencil sketches; 7" x 5 1/2" (largest image); all pencil signed and dated 1881. Forsyth served as a major figure in the Hoosier School of painters, exhibiting with T.C. Steele, Otto Stark, Richard Gruelle and J. Ottis Adams.
