Ab 1851 bis zu seinem Lebensende wurden Cabanels Werke regelmäßig im Salon ausgestellt. Die sich im Wasser rekelnde Schaumgeborene ist von feierlich gestimmten Putten umgeben. Description: Bellucci, Nymphe, Öl - Bellucci, Antonio (wohl) Antonio Bellucci ist neben Sebastiano Ricci und Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini einer der bekanntesten Meister der venezianischen Schule vor Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. 1709 wurde er in Wien durch Kaiser Joseph I. zum Hofmaler ernannt und behielt seine Stellung auch unter dessen Nachfolger Karl VI bei. Von Kurfürst Johann Wilhelm von der Pfalz wurde Bellucci nach Düsseldorf berufen. Nach dem Tod des Kurfürsten und erfolgreichen Jahren in Deutschland ging er 1716 an den englischen Hof, wo er sechs Jahre später sein größtes Werk vollendete, die Malereien an der Decke des Buckingham- Palastes. Belluccis Malerei ist durch einen manieristisch-eklektischen Stil, ein dunkles, gedämpft angelegtes Kolorit und eine virtuos ausgeführte Technik gekennzeichnet, die effektvoll eingesetzt wird. Sein Selbstbildnis ist heute in den Uffizien in Florenz aufbewahrt.
