The barrel retains approximately 30% to 50% original blue drifting to patina with some minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The frame is alight natural patina. The grips are good with 30% to 50% varnish and some mottling and aging to the varnish. The hammer shows considerable case hardening. There is some bright blue where protected. The markings are good and the boreshows a few pits. The breech end of the barrel shows no abuse from improper closing. A very nice early #3 Colt. Est.: $350-$700.

Description: Colt Model 1872 .22 caliber, 7 shot open top revolver in early production series with integral ejector rod housing serial number 2624P. This open top shows a 2 9/16" barrel and original nickel plated finish for which the P follows the serialnumber.. The pistol retains 75% to 85% original nickel on cylinder and frame with about 10% nickel on the barrel. The barrel shows some moderate pitting and light cleaning long ago. The barrel shows a good two line address. An oversizedejector rod head has been added long ago and the ejector rod spring is missing. The grips show traces of varnish with some dings and mars and at least good. There is some pitting on the front of the cylinder and the top of the hammer that isminor. The action is working and the front sight blade has been reshaped. A late serial number transition of model 1872 with ejector rod housing and short barrel. Est.: $600-$1200

Description: Colt New Line .38 caliber revolver with scarce factory extra-long 4" barrel, nickel plated with ivory grips, serial number 10946. This revolver remains in original very good condition showing approximately 75% to 85% uncleaned soft satincolored nickel finish. The etched panel is fully visible but slightly light. There is some peeling and losses at the firing areas and front of muzzle. The areas where the nickel has lifted has gone to a patina with slight beginning erosion and pinprick pitting. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp and the metal has not been cleaned in decades. The grips are original to the period and fit impeccably. The grips are very good plus to near fine with normal patina and aging. Thehammer shows bright fire blue on its back. The action is good and the interior is good. Refer William Locke collection. Description: Colt .22 caliber Woodsman semi-automatic pistol factory engraved, serial number 13827. This stunning Colt is fully and finally engraved by W. H. Gough and factory letter confirms all featuresshipped to Gough in Hartford, Connecticut, September 15, 1919 in green state for engraving with one gun and shipment. Under remarks the Colt letter mentions "that Gough was a master Colt engraver during this period and that all engravedColts by Gough are valuable collectors items". Only approximately 150 Colt Woodsman's were engraved by the Colt factory and this one shows a very fine and deluxe pattern which is at least a B+ or C grade. The pistol retains 97% to 99%original blue with just some slight losses at the muzzle and edges. The grips are crisp and at least very good plus to near fine. A two-tone Colt clip is included which shows small letters. The interior shows just a little firing and minor usewith a bright bore. The rear of the frame shows typical bull's-eye engraved.
