Estimated Price: Log in or create account to view price data
Description: Voice in the Mirror (Universal International, 1958). Reynold Brown Original Artwork in Gouache (21.5" X 21") and Black and White Photo (16.5" X 20"). William Reynold Brown (1917-1991) was a prolific illustration artist whose work is admired as some of the leading poster art of the 1950s and 1960s. He created the poster campaign art for more than 275 films in his career and it included some of the most famous of the era. Included in this lot is a beautiful gouache painting for the six sheet to the film Voice in the Mirror starring Richard Egan and Julie London. The painting was done on paper and mounted to the layout with rubber cement. The same artwork was previously used for the one sheet and was most likely removed from that layout and placed onto this for the larger format. Included in the lot is an oversized photo used by the artist to create the three sheet format painting. That painting is shown in the book published in 2009 called "Reynold Brown: A Life in Pictures." The artwork in this lot was not known to have survived until consigned to us by a former employee of Universal Studio's advertising department, who rescued these from the trash bin in the 1960s. Very Fine.
