Description: A Louis XV-XVI Marquetried Marble Top Commode, of various woods, the rust and white marble top having molded edging and porringer corners to the front, over two block front drawers with elaborate marquetry and ormolu ring pulls, flanked by ormolu mounted and marquetried canted corners and ormolu sabots to the French curved legs, and also with ornate marquetry to the side panels. Minor veneer loss. Note: Purchased by current owner's mother in October, 1966 at Sotheby Parke Bernet, Inc. and was subsequently reassessed by the same firm in October of 1979 and 1998. 32 1/2" high, 46 1/2" wide, 22".
