Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 26 1/4 x 32 1/4 in., framed. CONDITION Good, subtle areas of alligatoring. N.B.: Depicted here are the two children of George Frederick and Lucy Rice Farley of Groton, Massachusetts, who were married in 1823. The girl in red holding the black cat is Mary Adams Farley, who was born October 27, 1833. She married Edward Albert Kelley in 1854 and had one daughter Elizabeth Kelley (1857-1959) through whom the painting has descended. The boy holding the basket of fruit is George Frederick Farley, born June 25, 1838.
