WODEHOUSE, Pelham Grenville (1881-1975) -- A large collection of novels (94) by P. G. Wodehouse, most FIRST EDITIONS in original cloth, a few in dust-jackets, including:

Psmith in the City. A Sequel to "Mike", London: Adam and Charles Black, 1910. 8°, half title, half tone frontispiece and 11 plates by T. M. R. Whitwell, 2-pages of publisher's advertisements at end. (2 text leaves frayed, one with repaired tear, light spotting to text, some light, mainly marginal, staining to plates.) Original pictorial cloth (without the dust-jacket, upper cover spotted and lightly stained, extremities rubbed). FIRST EDITION. McIlvaine A14a.

The Little Warrior, New York: George H. Doran Company, 1920. 8°, half title. (Very lightly browned.) Original tan cloth lettered and decorated in green (without the dust-jacket, upper cover spotted and bumped at top right hand corner). FIRST EDITION. McIlvaine A25. Precedes the first English edition by 9 months. In England it was published under the title "Jill the Reckless."

The Clicking of Cuthbert, London: Herbert Jenkins, 1922. 8°, half title. Original green cloth lettered in dark green with an illustration in dark green of a disgruntled golfer attempting a difficult putt and his cherubic caddie hurrying off (without the dust-jacket, very light stain to upper cover, extremities very lightly rubbed). FIRST EDITION. McIlvaine A27; Donovan & Murdoch 874: "A collection of short stories, the title story one of the most famous and funny golf stories ever written."

Uncle Fred in the Springtime, London: Herbert Jenkins Limited, 1939. 8°, half title, 8-pages of publisher's advertisements at end. (Half title and title with a few spots, a few marginal spots.) Original orange cloth lettered in black, dust-jacket with a coloured illustration by Fenwick (spine a little discoloured, some fraying and creasing at edges of dust-jacket, a few short tears, edges spotted). FIRST ENGLISH EDITION. McIlvaine A16b(2).
