This was the first non-detachable box magazine rifle offered by Winchester. This rifle was manufactured in 1925 and features a Lyman blade front sight with a ivory bead and adjustable buck horn rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" and "35 W.C.F.". The left side of the action is marked with the two line address and patent dates, the Winchester oval proof is marked on the barrel and receiver at the breech and the upper tang is marked " MODEL 1895 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF & FGN.". Fitted with a smooth forearm with contrasting forend insert and replacement straight grip stock with a checkered buttplate.
