The included Winchester factory letter confirms the serial number, rifle configuration, barrel type and plain trigger. The letter states that the rifle was received in warehouse on 6 September 1904 and shipped from the warehouse on 29 September 1905 (order number 29134). The barrel is stamped with the two line top barrel flat address/patent date marking, the left barrel flat two line nickel steel marking and "25-35 W.C.F." at the breech. Barrel is fitted with a German silver blade front sight and three leaf rear sight (middle leaf is partially broken). The three line model and trademark information is stamped on the upper tang. Plain forearm and straight grip stock with crescent buttplate and steel end cap.
