Portrait of a Boy with Rattle, 1840s. Signed in chalk on the backboard "Prior." Oil on academy board; the young curly-haired, smiling child wears a lavender dress with dots and holds a gray rattle, 13 1/2 x 9 1/2 in. (sight), in a wood with parcel-gilt frame. Condition: Good, backboard missing parts.

Note: The backboard reads,"GWS- 35" in pencil.
