William Forsyth (American, 1854-1935), "A Willow of Winona", view from the island, oil on board; 27 1/2" x 21 1/2"; signed and dated '28 lower right, titled verso. Forsyth taught summer classes for Herron at Winona Lake in the 20s and 30s. He served as a major figure in the Hoosier School of painters, exhibiting with T.C. Steele, Otto Stark, Richard Gruelle and J. Ottis Adams.
