WILLIAM FORMBY HALSALL (American, 1841-1919) LIGHTHOUSE WITH SAND CLIFFS. Oil on canvas horizontal scene shows a lighthouse with buildings on a low point of land, tall grass topped sand cliffs are seen at end of island. Rough seas are shown in foreground with rocks. Probably a seen of one of the islands off Massachusetts, possibly Nahant. Signed lower left "W F Halsall". Housed in an outstanding gesso decorated gilt reproduction frame having a gilt wood artist plaque. SIZE: 12" x 36". CONDITION: Very good, faint stretcher lines. 9-92673 (5,000-7,000)
