Hand signed by the 26th President of the United States Theodore Roosevelt. This has been GAI authenticated (GV 538963) to be an original signature from T.R. and not a secretary. The letter is written to civil engineer Benjamin Harrod inviting him to be a part of the first Isthmian Canal Commission appointed for the building of the Panama Canal. It is professionally matted and framed with a photo of Roosevelt in a 19 x 15 frame. Teddy Roosevelt is well remembered for his energetic personality, range of interests, leadership of the progressive movement and "cowboy" image. He was a leader of the Republican Party and the short-lived Bull Moose Party. Roosevelt's achievements as a naturalist, explorer, hunter, author and soldier are as much a part of his fame as any office he held as a politician. Shipping cost (within the U.S.) for this lot will be: $14.50
