Fusco Auctions: Eclectic Collector #4 - Antiquities to Antiques: Lot 105

Scottish Walnut Stick Barometer circa late 19th c. Gimbal Marine Mount

Total Views: 41

Extremely well made stick barometer, probably made by a Scottish craftsman for export to the U.S. in the late 19th c. No markings or manufacturers name anywhere on the piece. The barometer is still in fine working order with full mercury content. The piece is 36" long, made of English walnut and brass. The top opens to expose the thermometer and barometer. The barometer can be hung on the wall or mounted on the accompanying swivel gimbal brass wall mount which allows the barometer to balance perfectly as it hangs away form the wall. Magnificent piece of craftsmanship.

Estimated Price: $2,000 - $3,000
