Victor Salmones (Mexican, 1937-1989) "Petitions", a group of three cast-bronze hands and arms on squared rectangular bases, each outstretched arm with a hand uplifted in supplication, edition of one, stamped in the base "C-31 V. Salmones P/A", h. 25", 29" and 33-1/2". Note: Salmones was a noted Mexican artist, a graduate of the prestigious Instituto de Bellas Artes (Mexican National Institute of Fine Arts), a winner in 1967 of first prize at the Biennalle Exposition of the National Museum of Modern Art for his sculpture "Adam" and in 1971 for "Narcissus" at New York's Frick Museum's National Art Competition. His most famous work is the installation "Cancer...There's Hope", presented in numerous U.S. cities, including Phoenix, Tampa, Kansas City, San Diego, Memphis, Orlando, Chicago and New Orleans.
