serial #127188 (Colt #278875), 45 ACP, 5 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This 1920 manufactured revolver retains virtually all of its original brushed blue finish with only the faintest turn ring on the cylinder betraying any use.The Colt and government markings are all crisp and the sides of the hammer are nearly fully bright with only some dried grease marring the surface on either side. The smooth walnut gripos are numbered to the gun on the interior (278875) and are likewise nearly pristine with practically no handling marks or blemishes in the original oil finish. The revolver comes in an original unmarked brown Colt box, numbered to the gun in pencil on the bottom (127188), that has extensive edge damage to the front of the lid but is otherwise in very good shape. Also included with the revolver are a Colt stamped metal screwdriver, a package of two half moon clips, and some linen patches. This is about as nice a brushed blue Colt Model 1917 as there is and would certainly be a fine acquisition for a discriminating collector.(74756-33) {C&R} [Kurgan Collection]
