The thumbmolded rectangular top above four graduated long drawers raised on ball and claw feet.

Benjamin Lamson (b. 1740, m. Martha Dennis), by repute a sea captain from Salem, Massachusetts, to Lydia Lamson (m. Nathaniel Batchelder Gordon 1791-1877), to Ann Farley Gordon (1832-1916, m. George Augustus Gordon 1827-1912, a recording secretary for the New England Genealogical Society), to Lysson Gordon (b. 1861, m. Alice Wight 1863-1918), to Eleanor Gordon Wiggins (b. 1889, m. C.J.Wiggins), to Alison Wiggins Bartels (b. 1923), to the present consignor.

Overall very good condition; this chest has virtually been untouched since originally made and retains a superb warm burnished and crazed old finish, brasses original and aged with the chest of drawers, minor abrasions to toes on ball and claw feet and along knee returns as well, small age splits to back and sides of top, light ring stains marks to left corner of top.
