NOTE
Brian Coffey (1905-1995), born in Dublin, was a poet and publisher, and in the 1930s was based in Paris where, along with Thomas MacGreevy and Samuel Beckett, he became a noted writer and part of the expatriate Irish community in the city. He had connections with a number of the artists working there, and was later to work with Hayter on his Death of Hektor (1979), Hayter providing twelve plates for the book.
