SPRINGFIELD 1884 TRAPDOOR CARBINE WITH "101" MARK.
American, ca.1885-1890. "101" stamp on the buttstock shows possible use in the 101 Wild West show. Old brass tacks added to stock and an engraved silver plate with "JB" and stars. Sight has "R" mark. 22"l. barrel. S/N 497034. Worn original blueing and the barrel has turned a dark brown. Barrel may have been shortened.
