for the cover of Vanity Fair in October of 1927. Benito began his formal art training in his native Spain at the Belles Artes de San Fernando in Madrid and continued his studies after WWI at the prestigious Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. One can clearly see an influence from Cubism in his work, but when viewing his stylized depictions of women, he moves beyond that movement to exemplify the streamlined refinement of Modernism. Benito is probably best known for his 20-year career as the leading cover artist for International Vogue before he passed away in 1981. Site: 5.5"H x 4.125"W; Frame: 14.125"H x 10.75"W. Circa - 1927.
