[SHAKESPEARE, William (1564-1616)]. BEERBOHM, Max (1872-1956). "William Shakespeare, his method of work," ca. 1904. Pen, ink and watercolor on paper, signed "Max" lower right and titled at head. 12 1/2 x 7 3/4 in. (319 x 198 mm). Matted, framed and glazed.

An amusing caricature, in which Beerbohm depicts Shakespeare accepting the manuscript of Hamlet from Francis Bacon.
