Manufactured from the late 1830s to the 1850s. The design of this pistol has two features that make it unique among other small frame Blunt & Syms pepperboxes. 1) The barrel cluster is beveled at the muzzle. 2) A spur is featured on the lower part of the front grip strap. The pistol has a high polish blue finish on the scroll engraved frame and 5-shot fluted barrel cluster. The nicely figured walnut two-piece bag shaped grips feature a high gloss piano finish and German silver screw escutcheons. Matching serial number on the frame, muzzle of barrel cluster, and the head of the barrel cluster screw. The face of the barrel cluster is also marked "R-C". In a partitioned wooden case lined in green velvet. Included are the following original and correct tools: a powder flask with design, cast lead balls, two cavity unmarked bullet mold/screwdriver, iron loading/cleaning rod with mushroom head and key.
