serial #10.310, 22 rf, 24" octagon barrel with a bright minty bore.This is an extremely fine Savage rimfire rifle.The action features factory floral scroll engraving on either side with neat geometric designs on top of action.The rifle is stocked in high figured American walnut with fancy checkering.Another neat special option is that the rifle was ordered with no rear barrel sight.The condition of the rifle is very nice with the barrel retaining about 90% evenly thinning original blue finish.The magazine tube is bright and the operating slide and bolt are both engine turned.The action retains about 95% bright original blue finish with very sharp checkering.The highly figured walnut checkered pistol grip buttstock and grooved forend rate excellent with 95% original finish remaining on butt and about 50% on forend which shows just light honest carry wear and is turning a little dark.The smooth steel rifle buttplate retains 90% original blue finish.The rifle features a Beach style combination front sight and a Lyman folding tang mounted peep sight.Rifle comes with a factory letter confirming the Expert grade, engraving and no rear sight seat.Additionally the letter shows the rifle being accepted into the warehouse on March 30, 1904 and not shipping until May 1, 1906 when it was sent to Iver Johnson Sporting Goods in Boston.A very rare, investment quality and truly wonderful little Savage rifle.(14630-1) {C&R}
