Cal..44, 33" part oct. bbl. Marked "H. Ruchner a Aarau." on the lock, "STAHL" on top of the bbl in front of the rear sight. Heavy 2-prong butt plate, dbl. set triggers, palm rest, sling swivels, target sights and bayonet identify this as a military target rifle. CONDITION: Gray-brown patina on bbl with moderate pitting at the breach. The lock and hammer have been cleaned to white, the butt plate, trigger guard and palm rest are smooth brown patina. The rear swivel is missing. The 20-$1/2" triangular bayonet has the number "2" on the side, an unidentified proof mark on the flat and traces of blue under a gray, lightly pitted surface. Part of the adjustment mechanism for the tang peep sight is broken off and missing. Stock has been re-varnished and retains most of that finish. Action is good. 4-46559 FS262.
