Condition Note: This work is in generally very good condition overall. There is a very faint vertical mark visible in the topmost petal, presumably inherent to the medium of the work. There is a small area of dark paint visible in the catalogue illustration, approximately 3 in. from the top and 24 in. from the right edge of the canvas, presumably inherent to the artist's working method and intent. All additional surface and color inconsistencies are presumably inherent to the artist's working method and intent. There is evidence of light wear around the extreme edges of the canvas. Otherwise, there are no apparent condition problems with this work. Not examined under ultra-violet light.
We are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described in our catalogue. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report. Prospective buyers should inspect each lot to satisfy themselves as to condition and must understand that any statement made by Sotheby's is merely a subjective, qualified opinion. NOTWITHSTANDING THIS REPORT OR ANY DISCUSSION CONCERNING CONDITION OF A LOT, ALL LOTS ARE OFFERED AND SOLD "AS IS" IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF BUSINESS PRINTED IN THE CATALOGUE.
