Provenance: Gift from the artist; private collection, New York.

This collage relies less on photographic images and photomontage than other early Bearden collages. The style of his signature, the profile cutouts and its similarity to the spare space used in the collaged screenprint Carolina Blue help us date this work to the years just before 1970.
