In the letter, Vonnoh wrote: "... I call it Moist Weather (France). It was painted in 1890, or a little before, at Grez sur Loing - - Seine et Marne; where I have a little country place. I considered it one of the most successful things that I had done & it was shown in several of my exhs (sic) around that period."
