Extremely Rare Redware Doghouse Bank, Pennsylvania origin, 19th century, slab-constructed house with incised roof and walls, featuring a hand-modeled dog with incised face and fur, seated in front of an arched opening. Surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Carved slot in roof. This bank is the only redware example in the form of a doghouse we have seen. A wonderful form surviving in remarkable condition. Mint condition. H 3" ; Length 4 3/4".
