Deluxe Winchester Model 65 Rifle manufactured between 1933 and 1941. The rifle has a full blue finish. The special order lacquer-finished walnut forearm and pistol grip stock have checkered panels. The stock has a pistol grip cap and checkered, steel, buttplate. Mounts for detachable sling swivels are located on the forearm cap and stock. The 24-inch barrel is standard for rifles chambered for the .218 Bee cartridge. The barrel is fitted with a ramp front sight with detachable hood and has a factory blank in the rear sight dovetail. The bolt is fitted with a Lyman 98A peep rear sight. The special order, deluxe, checkered stock and forearm, detachable sling swivels and bolt mounted peep sight are rare features on a Model 65 Rifle. The left side of the barrel is roll-stamped:" -WINCHESTER/PROOF STEEL-" in two lines followed by "MODEL 65", "-WINCHESTER/-TRADE MARK-" and "-218 BEE-" below the rear sight dovetail. The two-line Winchester legend is roll-stamped on the opposite side of the barrel. The Winchester oval "W/P" proof marks are stamped on the top of the barrel and receiver. The upper receiver tang is roll-stamped: "WINCHESTER/- TRADE MARK-/-MADE IN U.S.A.-" in three lines. The serial number is located on the bottom of the receiver behind the forearm.
