NOTE
Born in Israel in 1948, Michael Kovner grew up on a kibbutz but discovered the world of art during his first trip to Europe in 1955. After studying first in Israel, Kovner moved to New York where he studied at the New York Studio School between 1972-1975. In 2000 he took up an offer to share a New York studio with artist friends Jan Rauchwerger, Zvi Lachman and Ofer Lellouche in which the early morning light shining through the small window panes of the large picture window inspired many composition such as the one offered here.
