PAIR 15TH C GILT-WOOD POLYCHROME FIGURES - St. Florian and St. George, a pair of Liturgical figures, from the workshop of Michael Pacher (German, 1435-1498), George (Patron Saint of Soldiers) stands atop writhing Dragon, right hand pointing down, left hand and sword gone, long curling blonde hair in roped headband, gilt armor, gilt and orange cloak with green lining, old cloth tape repairs to back, replaced toe to shoe; Florian (the Patron Saint of Firefighters) stands next to green castle with dipper in right hand, crimson and gilt bicornuate crown framing curling chestnut hair, gilt armor, chain mail coat, gold cloak with crimson lining, fingers off left hand, replaced toe to shoe, both figures are roughly 42" tall, 17" wide, 9 1/2" deep, include custom solid chestnut brackets in Gothic style, 17 1/4" x 15 1/2" x 11" deep.
