PALLADIO, Andrea (1508-1580). Fabbriche antiche disegnate da Andrea Palladio Vicentino e date in luce da Riccardo Conte di Burlington. London: [no publisher], 1730. 2° (507 x 330mm). Engraved throughout, printed in bistre, architectural title, foreword with decorative headpiece, and 24 plates, including 16 double-page, by P. Fourdrinier after Palladio or Isaac Ware (closed tear in lower margin of one plate affecting ruled border, some plates lightly spotted). Contemporary russia, sides with decorative border of floral and animal tools, central gilt armorial of the Dukes of Newcastle, spine decorated and ruled gilt in compartments, lettering-piece (spine quite rubbed, extremities lightly rubbed), gilt edges. Provenance: Dukes of Newcastle (armorial on sides and bookplate).
