OGDEN MINTON PLEISSNER (American, 1905-1983) SALMON FISHING. Outstanding watercolor fishing scene shows man with long fly rod with salmon on. His guide has long net and awaits the retrieval. The cascading river has tree lined bank. The location is the Great Watchishou River, North Shore, St. Lawrence, Quebec, Northeast of Sept. Isle past Post Mingan. Housed in a fine gilt gesso decorated frame with inner linen and gold liner. PROVENANCE: Rankin Estate, Annapolis, Maryland. Purchased from Pernall Art Company, Baltimore, MD. SIGHT SIZE: 17-3/4" x 27-3/4". CONDITION: Very good. 9-29664 FP
