Gurievich, Svertchkov, (Lausanne, 2000) NOTES Born in 1818 in St. Petersburg, where he studied at the Academy of Arts. A contemporary of Horace Vernet (1789-1863) and of A. de Dreux (1810-1860) he had like them a passion for horses which he represented in their numerous uses.
