(Vienna 1804-1871 Munich) Portrait of a young girl with a wreath of flowers in her hair, pencil on paper, 22 x 17.5 cm, lightly fixed to support, stained, framed, (GL)
According to Dr. Siegmar Holsten, Stuttgart, the drawing is an early work dating from 1822/23, when the artist studiet at the Academy. It is comparable to the drawings "Dream of the Knight" (1822) and "Saint Hildegard of Schönau" (1823). In this context we would also like to point to the anniversary exhibition Moritz von Schwind, Von der Idee zum Meisterwerk in the Oberes Belvedere in Vienna until September 26.
