Condition/Details: Bound in blue cloth with beveled boards and bright gilt lettering to spine, this antique volume is a scarce privately-printed biography of British politician Sir John Cust (1718 - 1770). The second part of this work contains a large selection of Cust's correspondence. Author's letter, dated May 9, 1928, to an unnamed reviewer, inquiring about possible publication of notice for this book, is laid in. The volume shows external age/wear, with bumped corners and tearing at head of spine. The book is solidly bound with clean pages that show very occasional pencil markings to margins.
