LEWIS CASS, SALT PRINT PORTRAIT. 7 ¼ x 5 1/8 - inch hand cut salted paper print, a copy of one of the portraits by Mathew Brady. Cass was Secretary of State under Buchanan. He resigned in 1860 over Buchanan's failure to secure the fort at Charleston. Slight retouching. Some light stains from the glue from a previous mounting. [D3+]
