Kuniyoshi was born in Japan and emigtrated to the United States in 1906. There he studied at the Los Angeles School of Art and Design and was later awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship. He is most famous for his painting and prints and he often depicted ordinary objects and nudes. The print offered here is a rare example of his photographic work. - Minimal edge wear, especially in left edge with small loss in emulsion layer, otherwise a fine tonal print in near excellent condition.
