Orlova-Davidova shows the early composition, later abandoned, which shows her husband on a horse and her dog at her feet, see Asarkina, E. Briullov (Moscow, 1963) pgs. 86-91. Painted in 1834, the portrait is now at the Tretiakov Gallery in Moscow.
