This refers to the Shomer Tzion HaNe'emen newsletter published by the Rabbi of Altona.The opening words end with the signature הק' משה שיק. Rabbi Moshe then continues with a lengthy halachic back and forth relating to Rabbi Yaakov Ettlinger's words הרב האב"ד אלטונא יע"א להשיג על דברי אד"ו הגאון מהר"מ סופר זצ"ל.It seems that Rabbi Yaakov, author of Aruch L'ner, published a question and critique of the Chatam Sofer's words relating to halacha in an issue of his newsletter. Rabbi Moshe Schick, a devoted disciple of the Chatam Sofer, hurried to defend his teacher's words. Rabbi Moshe's halachic response in this impressive letter relates to this topic.Rabbi Moshe [Maharam] Schick was the leading disciple of the Chatam Sofer. He himself was a famed Rabbi in Yeregin and Chust. He was a prominent leader of Hungarian Jewry.
