Kensington gravel pits oil on panel 51/2 x 9 in. (14 x 22.9 cm.) PROVENANCE Boyce Collection (as John Constable). Mr and Mrs Lester Francis Avnet. with Leggatt Brothers, London. with Thomas Agnew and Sons, Ltd., London, no. 10750. NOTES This picture is likely to have been painted c.1811-12, possibly as a plein-air sketch for the large Kensington Gravel Pits exhibited at the British Gallery (Tate Britain, London, see note to lot 64).
