Oil on canvas scene shows a large following of people at edge of shoreline with fishing boat with sails down and man holding steady with pole. Jesus is seated in back of boat and speaks to the crowd. High mountains are seen in background. A large label from the "Church of Saint Mary of the Harbor, Provincetown, Massachusetts" with title and artist name. Label indicates that it was given in 1941 by his grandson James DeWolf Perry Jr. to the church. V. Pluche, Havre canvas stamp to back. John F. Weir was brother to Julian and son of Robert W. Weir.
