frame. Jones worked in a social realist style during the 1930s-40s, but in the late 1940s, he began executing minimalist works which looked much like the work of Feininger. Jones worked in St Louis, and was a good friend of Thomas Hart Benton. He exhibited at the St. Louis Artist Guild, Art Institute of Chicago, Whitney Museum of Art, National Academy of Design, and the Kansas City Art Institute. He also painted WPA murals.
