James Ferrier Pryde, artist and theatre designer, was responsible for the set design of the 1930 Othello in which Sir Ralph Richardson appeared. He was also the brother-in-law of Sir William Nicholson,
the two collaborating as "The Beggarstaff Brothers" on posters for Sir Henry Irving's productions
