NOTE
This drawing relates to a painting and bozzetto given to Giovanni Battista Rovedata, in the Museo del Castelvecchio. A drawn copy of the composition is in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana, Milan (as after Rovedata), although Padre Resta had attributed the drawing to Palma Giovane (see G. Bora, I Disgeni del Codice Resta, Milan 1976, cat. no. 112).
The present drawing, which is indented for transfer, was engraved, in the same direction, by Aegidius Sadeler, who published the print himself in 1594 (Hollstein 45).
