J ALDEN WEIR (American, 1852-1919) APPROACHING SHOWER. Fine oil on canvas scene shows a woman and child walking up a hill with grass and trees. The young girl looks back at an approaching dark storm cloud which is seen coming from the right and replacing blue and white cloud sky. An interesting and dramatic scene by this fine artist. Signed lower left "J A Weir". Housed in a fine carved wood and partial gilt frame with linen liner. SIZE: 24" x 30". CONDITION: Relined, minor inpainting. Very good. 9-72086
