The Sapumal Foundation was set up by the late Harry Pieris in 1974, its galleries tracing the development of art in Sri Lanka from the 1920s to the present date. The galleries occupy the house where Mr Pieris lived and worked, the core of the collection consisting of works by the original members of the '43 Group who laid the foundation of modern art in Sri Lanka.
VAT rate of 5% is payable on hammer price plus buyer's premium.
