Poster with letters for the exhibition at the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Museum in Krefeld, 1-31 May 1928 A congress of the silk and velvet industry that was held at the same time was to give the industry fresh impetus in the handling of colour and design. Campendonk, who in the early 1920s was appointed to teach at the art academy in his native Krefeld, also worked there as the creator of designs for the looms of the liturgical textiles and tapestry industry" and, at the request of some Krefeld silk manufacturers, also instructed their employees and workmen in colour theory.
